DESCRIPTION:After two successful conferences (2001\: The Netherlands\,
  2003\: Hungary)\, the  Writing Center of the Hellenic American Union 
 (HAU) is organizing a conference with  the topic "Teaching Writing On 
 Line and Face to Face" in Athens\,  22-24 June 2005.\n\nIt is the 3rd 
 Conference of the European Association for the Teaching of Academic  W
 riting (EATAW)\, an organization with an international membership of t
 eachers\,  researchers and students of the subject of teaching of acad
 emic writing  (http\://eataw2005.hau.gr/).    The Writing Center is a 
 service offered by the Hellenic American Union to its students  and th
 e general public. It offers advice and guidance on any writing problem
 \, in  English and in Greek (http\://www.hau.gr/hau/el/services_writin
 gcenter.html).\n\nWriting program administrators\, writing center staf
 f\, teachers\, researchers and  students interested in the teaching of
  academic writing are invited to attend and  submit papers for present
 ation.    They will have the opportunity to\:\n - listen to distinguis
 hed keynote speakers\, such as Prof Ann Raimes of the  CUNY and Prof. 
 C. Stephanidis of the Univ. of Crete\n - participate in presentations\
 , workshops\, and panel discussions on a variety of  themes\n\nThemes\
 :\n - Technology in teaching and tutoring writing\n - Viability of Wri
 ting Centers\: A free service or a free enterprise?\n - Organisational
  models for the teaching of academic writing\n - Cross-national and cr
 oss-cultural issues in the teaching of writing\n - Research & Innovati
 on in the teaching and tutoring of writing\n \n The working language o
 f the Conference will be English.
